 "Captain Ben had been running kitesurfaris for a while when I arrived in the Caribbean.
I remember introducing myself to him when I started doing kitesurfing charters -a bit worried to represent a threat to the people already set there- and he responded in a welcoming way.
When I offered him to be part of the network I was creating, couple of years later, Captain Ben was actually the very first one to sign up!
He's been very supportive of the project all along and it's always been a real pleasure to communicate with him.
After months of long emailing and skype conversations, trying to catch up and failing to, we finally managed to meet in St Martin.
 Ben and I turned out to have a lot more in common than a destroyed left knee! :)
We shared the same passion for surfing, simple lifestyle, monohulls and going with the flow.
We feel the same way about numerous topics and I like him!
Probably that his origins play a big rule both in his natural chilled out-ness and in the fact that I can relate to him.
Ben probably wasn't really meant to end up doing what he's doing now: he originally came to the Caribbean to sail, and it's the local wave shortage that turned the soul surfer that he was then towards kitesurfing - in 2004.
Being an experienced sailor, starting to run kitesurfing cruises came naturally.
All in all, Captain Ben is this super cool and easy going guy, living the real thing out there on his boat for now over 7 years, kitesurfing and surfing the best spots in the Caribbean.
 The most beautiful thing?
He since got married and had a child, and he hasn't changed a thing: it's along one of his travels down south that he ended up meeting his gorgeous wife Betty -and now Mother of their beautiful little Victoria-. This little floating tribe of his is so screaming "raw happiness" that it gives hope to all the wild ones out there that it is possible to build a family without having to ever give up on anything! ;) They shine on Love, which naturally passes on to anyone surrounding them.
